Results from the H. J. Fox 2008 Halloween Festival & Medal Finals

(Left to Right) Emily Wyatt (Covington, GA) & Casey Whitaker (McDonough, GA) are pictured with their USHJA (United States Hunter/Jumper Association) Affiliate Medal Awards, won by being the USHJA High Point Medal Winners in the H. J. Fox Medal Finals at the GA International Horse Park in Conyers, GA. H. J. Fox is an USHJA Affiliate Horse Show. Emily was the Junior Winner, and Casey was the Adult USHJA winner.

Kennedy McKnight, pictured above on "Lemony Snickett", was the Beginner Crossrail Medal Final Winner. Kennedy lives in Augusta, GA. Olivia Rowan (riding "My Little Pony"), from Auburn, AL was the Reserve Champion in that class. (Olivia is pictured below.)

 

 

Danielle Lewan of Madison, GA, and Caroline Wilson of Auburn, AL were Champion and Reserve (respectively) in the Junior 14 & under Medal Final Class in Octoboer at the GA International Horse Park.

The Electronic Leader Board added loads of atmosphere and festivity to the occasion for the entire week-end in the Covered Arena. "H. J. Fox" himself (or HER self as the case may be!) are slinking around the turn (as foxes are prone to do!) in the middle group of Costume class participants. There were 60+ entries in the 3 age groups of Costume Classes! "H. J." is portrayed in this photo by Mary Kathryn Nininger of Senoia, GA.

The H. J. Fox Senior Medal Final was won by Jordan Mitchell (Loganville, GA), riding her gelding "Jeremy". The second place trophy went to Ashley Peters (Madison, GA), riding "Masquerade".  Congratulations to an extremely competitive class!

The 2008 Cynthia P. Foster Memorial Challenge was won by Danielle LeWan (Madison, GA). Presenting the perpetual trophy, the embroidered dress sheet, the ribbons, and the $100 Scholarship are (L to Right) Emily Wyatt (2007 Cynthia Foster winner) and Arden Foster (McDonough) daughter of Cynthia P. Foster. Nicole Meier (Rutledge, GA)
was the 2nd Place Winner in this Class.

 

 

 

The 2 round $500 H. J. Fox Hunter Derby was won by Alexandra Linschied, on "Steel Confidence". Alexandra won not only the cash, a
beautiful Champion ribbon, and an embroidered saddle pad, but also a set of jump standards (built and donated by "Jump on Over" Farm - Senoia, GA) Alexandra owns and manages Wisteria Stables, newly located in Walton County. In second place, Rachael Firstman (Alpharetta, GA) and "Make a Splash" took home the cash award and the Reserve Champion ribbon. Congratulations to all competitors, and many thanks to the Niningers' for the donated jump.

The Marshall & Sterling "Bit of Straw" Hunter Classic was won on Sunday by Ansley Toland (left), riding "Count Valay". Ansley (Concord, GA) won a special Champion M & S Ribbon, and also a personalized photograph album. Coming in 2nd in this 2 round classic was Maggie Howard (Augusta, GA) riding "Fairy Tail" (right).

Kendall Axley (Loganville, GA), riding "Lark's Rugged Storm" won the Equitation Challenge in Ring II on Sunday. Raven Gropp (Augusta, GA) was the Reserve Champion in that Challenge.

Kate Broach (Rutledge, GA) riding "High Flight", was the Champion in the Short/Long Hunter Classic on Sunday. Caroline Hudon (Auburn, AL), riding "Fool's Gold" won the Reserve Ribbon.

Abby Scales (Carrollton, GA), riding "Bob the Builder", was the Champion in the Equitation Challenge in the Beginner Ring on Sunday. The Reserve spot went to Kennedy McKnight from Augusta, GA.

$1,000 H. J. Fox Mini-Prix: "Rythm & Blues", ridden by Jessica Strott (Rutledge, GA) captured the 1st Place Ribbon in the $1,000 H. J. Fox Mini-Prix, with the fastest jump-off among the 12 competitors. Jordan Mitchell (Loganville, GA) and "Believe the Hype" was second.

$500 BuckDance Memorial 3' Jumper Challenge: Amy Fleshman (Alpharetta, GA), riding "Feist", was the 1st winner of the newly established perpetual award in memory of "BuckDance", an incredible 3' jumper owned and loved by Emily Wyatt. Not only did Amy take the 1st place cash, but also a beautiful perpetual trophy, an embroidered dress sheet, and a beautiful ribbon. Amy led the class with a blistering time in her jump-off. Just behind her in second, was her barn-mate, Aubrey Bean riding "Snowboard", also from Alpharetta.
